Just imagine you are waiting near your land-line for an incoming call
You were expecting the call at 1:30 pm and thus you're near the phone at 1:20 pm itself
It's been 3 hours and the phone still didn't ring
You are concerned and all the more worried
You get very frustrated, its been 10 hours that the call didn't come
And its time to get some sleep, and while resting on your pillow you are still thinking about the call
The next morning you wake up and wait patiently for the call
Its been 10 days of waiting and still no response
On the 11th day you decide to pick the phone and to your shock and surprise the phone is dead
Now you realize that for soo long the phone was dead
You step outside and realize that someone had messed up with your wires and eventually its cut
You quickly get it joined back and then the phone is working
As soon as the wire got repaired the phone rings trinng trinng
Guess who's on the line???? The one whom you've been waiting for 10 days to hear
Our spiritual lives are also similar to this phone
We wanna hear God's voice, and indeed as we are His sheep, this is the common daily phenomenon
The bible says in Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
In some version it says guard your heart
Like the phone wire, it was not guarded thus it was cut by some one
Satan wants to disconnect us from God like that wire
Thus we need to guard our heart and observe the verse says diligently, which means its a continuous effort and requires a lot of hard work and commitment and passion
Guard your heart, ummm its easy to guard a telephone wire :-)
Imagine you need to guard your house, what do you do???
you mainly observe the movement of people at the entrances or openings of the house
It may be the windows or the doors, no one would guard the walls but the doors and windows
In the similar way we need to guard our doors and windows mainly the gates of our spirit
the gates of our spirit are the eye gate, the ear gate and the mouth gate
As we guard our heart, then we can hear clearly from God
Hearing from God is available for every sheep of Jesus Christ
And those who guard their heart can hear better
A successful person is a person who can hear from God and obey Him by faith
Hearing from God is not just limited to Pastors, Preachers or Evangelists
Hearing is for all, thus we see in Revelation, its often mentioned that “he who has an ear let him hear”
Well God speaks to your heart and not to your intellect mind
Your heart is your spirit, and God is a Spirit and He communicates Spirit to spirit
So make a decision this day to make a diligent effort to guard your heart because from this flows issues of life, what ever happens in your life depends on guarding your heart and hearing from God
And expect to hear from God in your spirit and be a successful person and give your 100%
